How the 2026 season went

So you know what to expect if you are planning for next year.

240 kits, hand delivered

Every idol and patri set was delivered by hand across Hyderabad in the two days before Chavithi, zone by zone.

Sold out before the deadline

Both idol lots were gone before the order cut-off, and the remaining patri sets went within a day. Ordering early is the only way to be sure.

Hyderabad only

Clay travels badly and patri is perishable, so delivery stayed inside Hyderabad. That is likely to hold for 2027.

The twenty-one patri

Offered in order, each with its own name and its own shlokam. Every leaf in its own paper sachet, numbered one to twenty-one.

All twenty-one patri, numbered and named: Machi, Bruhathee, Bilva, Duurvayugma, Datura, Badari, Apamarga, Tulasi, Chootha, Karaveera, Vishnukrantha, Daadimi, Devadaru, Maruvaka, Sindhuvara, Jaaji, Gandaki, Shammi, Ashwatha, Arjuna, Arka

Sachet 1 carries Om Sumukhaya Namaha; sachet 21 carries Om Kapilaya Namaha. This is the part most patri bundles get wrong — they arrive as a mixed heap and you are left sorting leaves on Chavithi morning.

Why river clay, and not plaster

A painted plaster idol does not dissolve. It sits at the bottom of the tank and the paint goes into the water. Every year the lakes around Hyderabad are dredged of them.

Clay behaves differently. It came out of a riverbed and it goes back to one. The patri, being ayurvedic, are of use to the cattle and the water rather than a burden on it. That is the whole argument, and it is not a complicated one.

The twenty-one patri, named and numbered

Harvested with care

Patri sourced through the Bhadhyatha Foundation from growers who harvest without damaging the trees.

Nothing plastic

Paper sachets, a paper box. There is no plastic anywhere in it.

Where the money goes

After costs: farmers practising go-aadhara cultivation, gowshalas, and a Vedic school.

Ganapati does not only come once a year

A Ganapati Homam is performed before any new beginning — a new house, a new business, a wedding, an exam, or simply to clear what is in the way. Karishye arranges it year round with a verified Telugu pujari who explains each step, complete samagri, and free muhurtham guidance before you commit to anything.

Questions people ask

Can I still order the Ganesha kit?

Not for 2026 — the season is closed and everything has been delivered. The kit is made in a limited run each year for Vinayaka Chavithi, which falls on Saturday, 4 September 2027. Message us on WhatsApp and we will tell you the day ordering opens.

When is Vinayaka Chavithi 2027?

Saturday, 4 September 2027. The sthapana and puja are performed during the madhyahna (midday) window; we publish the exact Hyderabad muhurtham closer to the date.

What was in the kit?

A nine-inch river clay Ganesha shaped by hand, and all twenty-one patri in individually labelled paper sachets with the shlokam printed on each. No plaster of Paris, no paint across the body, and nothing plastic in the packaging.

Do you deliver outside Hyderabad?

Not currently. Clay travels badly and patri is perishable, so delivery is by hand inside Hyderabad in the two days before Chavithi.

Can I book a pujari for Ganapati Homam now?

Yes — that runs all year, unlike the kit. A Ganapati Homam is performed before new beginnings and as a remedial puja, with a verified pujari and the samagri included, across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

What do I do with the idol and patri afterwards?

Immerse them in water. The clay dissolves and the patri, being ayurvedic, are of use to the cattle and the water rather than a pollutant. If you have nowhere suitable, you can send them to our Uppal office and we perform a river nimarjan on your behalf.
