What comes in the box
Two things, both done properly.
The idol. Nine inches, seated on a lotus, shaped from river clay by hand. No plaster of Paris, no paint across the body — only the eyes and the tilakam are picked out. It dissolves in water the way it is supposed to.
The patri. All twenty-one, and this is the part most kits get wrong. Each leaf sits in its own paper sachet, numbered in the order it is offered, with the sloka printed on the sachet. You are not sorting a mixed bundle at 7 in the morning trying to work out which leaf is which.

Why clay, and why this one
A painted plaster idol does not dissolve. It sits at the bottom of the tank and the paint goes into the water. Every year the lakes around Hyderabad are dredged of them.
Clay behaves differently. It came out of a riverbed and it goes back to one. The patri, being ayurvedic, are of use to the cattle and the water rather than a burden on it. That is the whole argument, and it is not a complicated one.

After costs: farmers practising go-aadhara cultivation, gowshalas, and a Vedic school.

The vratham, performed live
From 9 AM on Monday, 14 September, the Vinayaka Vratham is performed live and you can follow it from home with your family. If you have never done it before, this is the part that makes it possible.
The sachets are numbered in the order the patri are offered, so you work through them as the vratham proceeds. Nobody needs to know anything in advance.
And afterwards
Immerse the idol and the patri in water and the clay goes back to where it came from.
If you have nowhere suitable — and in a flat, most people do not — put the idol and patri back in the Karishye box and send it to our office in Uppal. We perform a proper river nimarjan on your behalf. Only the idol and the patri; nothing else goes in the box.

Is the idol really only clay?
Yes. It is shaped from natural river clay by hand. There is no plaster of Paris and no paint on the body — only the eyes, the tilakam and a few features are picked out. That is why it dissolves cleanly in water instead of leaving residue behind.
How big is it?
Nine inches tall, six inches wide and about four and a half inches deep, seated on a lotus base. It suits a home mandapam rather than a large pandal.
What are the 21 patri and why do they matter?
They are the twenty-one leaves offered during the vratham, each with its own name and its own sloka. Ours arrive individually — every patri in its own paper sachet, numbered in the order they are offered, with the sloka printed on the sachet. You are not left sorting a mixed bundle on the morning of the puja.
Will the leaves still be fresh?
They are packed close to dispatch and travel dry in paper, not plastic. Patri is a natural material and appearance varies with the season; what we hold to is that every one of the twenty-one is present, correctly identified and fit to offer.
What if I have never performed the vratham before?
That is the common case, and it is why the vratham is streamed live from 9 AM on the morning of Chaturthi. You can follow along at your own pace at home. The sachets are numbered in order, so you simply work through them.
What do I do with the idol afterwards?
Immerse it in water. The clay dissolves and the patri, being ayurvedic, are of use to cattle and to the water rather than a pollutant. If you have nowhere suitable, pack the idol and patri back into the Karishye box and send it to our office — we will perform a river nimarjan on your behalf.
How is it delivered?
Two options, both ₹150. If your gated community is on our list, the kit is brought to your community and handed over there. Otherwise choose home delivery and it comes to your door. Pick one at checkout — there is no pickup option this year.
When will it arrive?
Before Chaturthi on 14 September. We will confirm your delivery window by WhatsApp once your order is placed.
Can I order more than one?
Yes, change the quantity before adding to cart. If you want several for family or for your community, message us on WhatsApp and we will sort it out directly.
Where does the money go?
After costs, proceeds go to farmers practising go-aadhara cultivation, to gowshalas through govu-graasam, and to a Vedic school. The patri are sourced through the Bhadhyatha Foundation from growers who harvest without damaging the trees.
