What Shastipoorthi is
Shastipoorthi (షష్టిపూర్తి) marks the completion of sixty years. The Telugu calendar names its years in a cycle of sixty samvatsaras, so at sixty a person returns to the samvatsara they were born in – one full cycle of life. The ceremony at this point, also known as Ugraratha Shanti, offers thanks for the years lived and prayers for health and long life ahead, usually with the whole family present.

When to hold it
Most Telugu families perform Shastipoorthi on completing sixty years, in the 61st year, on or near the birth nakshatra. Some families hold it in the 60th year. Because practice differs, share the date of birth (or nakshatra and samvatsara) and we will suggest suitable muhurthams.
How booking works
- Message or call with the date of birth, the month you have in mind and your area.
- We plan the format – the homams, number of purohits, venue needs and the full amount.
- Confirm with an advance; the balance is settled as agreed.
- On the day, the purohits arrive with the samagri and explain each step to the family.
