Doing pitru tarpanam every day? A month's black sesame, darbha and vibhuti come together in the Pitru Tarpanam Kit.
Darbha (దర్భ, also dharbha) is kusha grass, the sacred grass used throughout Vedic ritual. This listing is one bundle (దర్భ కట్ట).
How darbha is used
-
Pavitram – a ring of darbha worn on the right ring finger during sankalpam, tarpanam and homam.
-
Tarpanam and shraddha – see pitru tarpanam at home.
-
Homam and kalasam – spread around the homa kundam and placed with the kalasam.
-
Grahanam – many families place a blade of darbha on stored food during an eclipse.
How much do you need?
One bundle is enough for most single pujas, including Gruhapravesham. For daily tarpanam through a month, take five bundles – or the Pitru Tarpanam Kit.
