Gorochan (గోరోచనం, gorochanam) is a traditional orange-yellow tilakam material. A little is mixed with water or gandham (sandal paste) and applied as tilakam, or used in the alankaram of the deity.
How gorochan is used
-
Tilakam – rubbed with a drop of water and applied on the forehead.
-
Alankaram – mixed into gandham for the deity.
-
Special pujas – where the purohit lists it in the samagri.
Only a tiny amount is used each time, so one piece lasts long. Keep it dry and in a closed box.
