Javvadu (జవ్వాది, also javvadhi) is a traditional fragrance offered to the deity. It is applied during alankaram, after abhishekam, and appears in samagri lists such as Rudrabhishekam.
How javvadu is used
-
After abhishekam – a little is applied to the deity with gandham.
-
Alankaram – mixed into gandham or applied on the deity for fragrance.
-
Samagri lists – one small pack is usually enough for a puja.
A very small amount gives a strong fragrance, so a 2 g pack goes a long way. Keep it tightly closed.
