An ittadi glass (ఇత్తడి గ్లాసు) is a 250 ml brass glass. In puja it holds water for achamanam, theertham and abhishekam, and it is on the purohit's list for Gruhapravesham and Upanayanam.

Where it is used

  • Panchapatra water – with an uddharini spoon for achamanam during puja.
  • Theertham and abhishekam – milk, water or panchamrutham.
  • Gruhapravesham and Upanayanam – our kits include three brass glasses.

Questions families ask

Brass or copper glass?
Both are used. For drinking water many families prefer copper – see Ragi glass (copper).

How many do I need for a Gruhapravesham?
Usually three. Our Gruhapravesham kit includes them.
